Training that helps dogs cope with real life

Relationship-led, force-free dog training for dogs who find everyday life hard. And for people who are tired of quick fixes and being told they're doing it wrong.

GLOUCESTERSHIRE, BRISTOL AND SURROUNDING AREAS

Got a puppy and not sure what
comes after the first six weeks?

Got a gundog who pulls, ignores
you, or won’t switch off?

There’s a clear path forward for both.
It starts with a consultation.

Two different problems.

Two clear answers.

INITIAL CONSULTATION AND RECOMMENDED PATHWAY
NOT SURE WHERE YOU FIT?

Start where you actually are.

I need individual help

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure what your dog needs. Start with a consultation. We look at the dog in front of you and work out what support makes sense.

I’m looking for classes

Small, capped group classes focused on real-life skills and learning to work with your dog rather than control them. Not just sit, stay and hope for the best.

I want loose lead help

Three focused sessions on loose lead walking and the skills that support it. For dogs who are generally comfortable out and about but pull on the lead.

I want to understand how you train

Not all training is the same. Read about the approach, the ethics, and why the focus is on regulation and understanding rather than rushing dogs into obedience.

ABOUT SAM

I don't offer a one-size-fits-all programme. I look at the dog in front of me and build from there. Some people use a single consultation to get clarity and relief. Others go on to more structured support. Both are fine.

The aim is simple. Help you understand your dog and know what to do next. Consistency matters more than perfection.

WHAT CLIENTS SAY

"Sam's knowledge and kindness is just what every dog parent needs. Her approach is kind and respectful. Can't recommend Sam enough."

HELEN AND GIGI

"The big difference with Sam is she asks what you want and tailors the training to how she sees you work with the dog. Her approach is all about positive reinforcement."

ANDY AND LAIMA

"Training has become an hour of wonderful bonding time. Nellie has become brilliant at understanding my body language — I often get comments on how well she responds."

SAM AND NELLIE
THE APPROACH

NO FEAR.
NO FAFF.
NO PERFORMANCE CONES.

Training should feel like a partnership. Where you both learn and occasionally pretend you know what you're doing.

The focus is on regulation, understanding and real-life skills. Not rushing dogs into obedience they aren't ready for.

Science-based, kind methods
Reward-based, evidence-led training. No shouting. No scare tactics. No spray bottles.

The dog in front of you
Every session starts with looking at the actual dog and actual handler, not a fixed programme.

Real life focus
Skills that hold up outside the class - in the real places and situations that matter to you.

Support for humans too
You're part of this. Good training supports you as much as your dog. No judgement, no pressure.

Learning never stops
ABTC registered, GTA qualified. Not just a course from the 90s and a natural-with-animals badge.

Start with a
conversation

No pressure to commit. Some people use one consultation to get clarity. Others build from there. Either way, we start with the dog in front of you.
